KAORI HORIUCHI, idol in Akihabara, Japan / KAORI’s Akihabara List NEWS [vol.1]
Ohayougozaimasu!! Hi, Everyone!
My name is Kaori Horiuchi. I’ll be writing blogs on Akihabara list and this is my 1st one! I hope you enjoy my blogs and get to know about Akihabara through them! I will be writing about popular subculture in Akihabara, such as games, animations, idols, and so on!
About ME, Kaori Horiuchi, an Idol in Japan!
First of all, I’d like to introduce myself. I am an idol, a member of Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome (idol group in Japan). I speak Japanese and English. I also can speak Chinese, French and Italian, but am still studying them. I speak English because I went to high school in the U.S. I studied abroad in China and France for a while. I have also visited Italy to perform as Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome. That’s where I have started to learn Italian.
I love music. I have become an idol because I would want to perform as a solo singer someday. That is my dream. I also play some music instruments as my hobbies, such as piano, Arpa(Paraguayan harp), and flute.
TV shows that I am on!
In addition to my work as a member of Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome, I have some other media works.

Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome, what kind of idol group is it?
Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome was formed on May, 2012 with our first Indies CD, “Produce.” We have made our major debut on May 8th, 2013 with “Baito Fighter.” Our newest CD is “Seishun Chronicle/Harinezumi to Jellybee,” released on October 27th, 2014. We have released 7 CDs in total, 2 Indies single, 4 major singles, and 1 album.
My group, Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome is very unique in many aspects. First of all, the members, including me, all work at Akihabara Backstage pass(BSP) in Akihabara, Tokyo. We are an idol group, and at the same time, we are working part-time at BSP. Also, about 100 girls are in our group, 1st generation to 7th generation. It is a BIG group…! Members’ age vary from 15-27. Since there are many girls in our group, I’m sure you would be able to find your favorite member! What is more, most of things about Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome are decided by fans! There is a voting system done by fans(I’ll explain a little more later), and that will decide who will be on TV shows, CD cover, and so forth. CD covers’ members on released CDs were mostly decided by fans’ voting!
We, as a group, often perform at various events.

We also have our own tour lives, release events at CD shops, shopping malls and so on.
More details about our live performance are on our official website (http://backst.jp).
Akihabara Backstage pass, where you can meet members of Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome!
Akihabara Backstage pass was opened on December 23rd, 2011, produced by Tsunku, and Chiyomaru Shikura. It is a concept cafe, “idol develop-type entertainment cafe”. Here, the concept is “you are the producer!” All the customers at Akihabara Backstage pass and our fans are called as “producers.” What they can do as producers is the VOTING. Customers can make a “Shainshou,” a membership card.
By making this card, they can vote for idol casts (members of Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome), whoever they wish to support for. The result of voting will be used to decide who will be on the media, such as TV shows, magazines, CD covers and so forth. Whoever got more votes can be on the media preferentially.
Also there is a stage inside, where the idol casts perform!
On weekdays, we usually have stage performances three times a day. On weekend and holidays, we have stage performances about seven times a day. If you come to BSP, you can see us performing up close!
I hope you could get an idea who I am by this blog..! I will be writing some more soon! If you got interested in me, please visit me at Akihabara Backstage pass, follow me on twitter, or check my blog
